Will FF 4 run on Win XP? If so, what about FF 5?
I am currently running Windows XP SP3 and FF 4.0.1 and TB 3.1.10
successfully.
It is my understanding that FF 5 and TB 5 are updates to the existing

Firefox 5 runs just fine on XP also.
Firefox has been running on my XP Pro ever since it was "Phoenix". ;-)

Aurora (~Fx6 to be) also works. I understand that some of the features
relating to hardware-acceleration require Win7. But I'm not doing
cutting-edge browsing.
To be more to the point, yes, both will run on WinXP. Some features may
not work as fast, or at all, if your hardware isn't up to minimal standards.
