Release notes can be found here.

For reasons only Mozilla knows release notes are neither linked from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/ nor accessible from FF itself.

Hummm.
One issue: It says in known issues that if you have the menu bar and
navigation bar on the same line, and switch from showing the menu bar to
just showing the Firefox button, it will crash. Doesn't here.
But not many will want to do that (hide the menu bar in favor of the
Firefox button since they wouldn't have configured it that way if they
liked the Firefox button.
Hi folks,
I just updated my FF 4.0 to 4.0.1, all went smoothly, no probs, etc. (Win7
64)
One thing eludes me though, where can I find the latest Release Notes?
With previous incarnations of FF, the act of updating used to tell me what
changes were made.
I did not get this generated info page when updating 4.0 to 4.0.1, and was
wondering if it's by design or is it "just me"?
If it matters, I went to "Help|About Firefox" which started the update
automatically.
So I guess I'm really asking 2 questions:
[1] Why no more automatic Release Notes info after updating? and
[2] Where can I find Release Notes manually?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Christian, I thought they didn't do it anymore, like it was hit or miss in betas.
Ron, here's what it says:
If you customize your toolbars to include the Location Bar or Search Bar in the Menu Bar, and then toggle the state of the Menu Bar
between shown and hidden, Firefox will crash (see bug 640652)
The difference is that it is moving into the Menu Bar not or into the Location bar.
I move the search bar into the Menu Bar though and if I hide the Menu bar, it does not crash for me
but then it does not display correctly either with my tabs on the bottom it just drops the tabs bar
which is the one bar I do not hide even in full screen mode. And it displays both the Firebox button
without any title as is it's curse, and also displays the menu bar. And if I display the bookmarks
and only overlaying (Aero) the top of the Bookmarks sidebar. Just wish I could make Firefox
aware that I want zero Aero transparency effects.
Mine is customized this way. That is I have the menu bar turned on, and
the location bar (although NOT the search bar) on the same line.
It doesn't crash if I turn off the menu bar, although, of course, I lose
my location bar.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for the reply, but I'm still confused.
What do I click on (in FF4.0.1) in order to find the page that your link
provides?
(In other words, where did *you* find it and how?)
Or are you saying that one should just open any browser and type in: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0.1/releasenotes/ ?
(Sorry to seem so dense, but this is my first obstacle with 4.0.xxx)

and I guess I should have remembered that much of your layout from other times.
It's just that it doesn't crash, but, of course, I then have no location
bar visible. Not a usable configuration.
The release notes are not accessible from FF itself.
In other words, there is nothing built into FF4.0.1 which you can click
on in order to find the release notes.
On the other hand, these work.
1) If you go to the Mozilla-Europe site http://www.mozilla-europe.org/
you will see a "release notes" link underneath the green download
button.
2) This Mozilla page has links to release notes for many versions of FF.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/releases/
It seems to be missing 4.0.1 at this time. But if you observe what
the URLs look like for other versions, you can figure it out for 4.0.1.
