Hi,
I'm using Firefox 3.6 under WinXP.
Recently I updated Java, was: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
currently added: Java(TM) 6 Update 18.
both Java's are available according to Control Panel.

As on can see I did not update Java for a long time - it was
intentional, because I use an application which does not work correctly
with newer versions of Java. I tested it on various levels of Java 5 and
found that Update 4 is latest compatible release.
However started to use another application which demanded to install
newer Java version. I did it.
Now the old application does not work.
The application is OS/2 based HMC and is not subject to change.

Question: Can I specify in Firefox which version should it use?

See

Any JRE version below Java 6 Update 10 will not work with Firefox 3.6.

If you don't have a reason, at least have an excuse.
